Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lidell cracks Kalliope with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kalliope shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lidell counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Lidell lands with a nice body punch.
Kalliope avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kalliope misses with a takedown
and Lidell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lidell scores with a hook.
Lidell lands with a right hand.
Kalliope dives in for a single leg takedown but Lidell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Metaxas Kalliope. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kalliope drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lidell pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lidell connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Lidell cracks Kalliope with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Lidell counters with a stiff right hand.

Kalliope has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Lidell lands a jab to Kalliope's midsection.

Kalliope bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Lidell parries the strikes from Kalliope easily there. Kalliope is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lidell to escape.
Kalliope cracks Lidell with a big right hand but Lidell just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kalliope scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Lidell is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Kalliope can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
