Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cody Greenhart (ranked 3786 p4p, 3006 weight class) and Jade Blackshear (ranked 229 p4p, 191 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackshear misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Greenhart shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Blackshear really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Greenhart. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Blackshear enables Greenhart to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Blackshear manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Greenhart closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Greenhart is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Blackshear has managed to free his arm - good work.
Greenhart perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Greenhart uses his free foot to push down on Blackshear's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Blackshear.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
