PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Red Jesus Karter (ranked 1214 p4p, 1758 weight class) and Blade Wilson (ranked 156 p4p, 214 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Blade Wilson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Red Jesus Karter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blade Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karter on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Wilson blocks a head kick by Karter.
Both fighters circling a little - Wilson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Karter misses with a hook to the body
and Wilson counters with a stiff right hand.
Karter misses with a left hand
letting Wilson counter with a right hand.
Karter paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Wilson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Wilson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Karter.
Some bone on bone action there as Wilson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Despite the aggression on Wilson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Karter throws a body punch but Wilson moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Karter.
Karter walks into a left hand.
Karter throws a body punch but Wilson moves out of range.
Wilson appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Karter swats away the attempt to clinch by Wilson.
Karter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wilson.
Karter misses with a jab to the body
and Karter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The fighters circling - Wilson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Karter misses with a body kick.
Karter just misses with a punch to the body.
Karter misses the jab.
Karter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wilson avoids the head kick by Karter.
Karter lands with an uppercut that bounces Wilson off the cage and back into range.
Karter misses with a straight right.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wilson keeps Karter at a distance using the push kick.

Wilson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Karter throws a push kick but Wilson slaps the foot to one side.
Karter throws a lazy body kick
and Wilson counters with a low kick, right behind Karter 's knee.

Wilson forces Karter back against the cage and clinches.
Wilson lands with a short shot to the head.
Wilson cracks Karter with a nice body shot.
A head punch on the inside from Karter fails to land.
A right handed body shot lands from Wilson.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Karter.
Wilson lands an uppercut.
Wilson has a couple of punches blocked by Karter.
Wilson misses with a punch to the body.
Wilson lands a body shot.
Nice body punch from Wilson.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wilson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Karter's elbow.
Wilson using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wilson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Karters head.
Wilson swings wildly with an uppercut but Karter uses good head movement to avoid it.
Karter is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Wilson.
Wilson misses with a punch to the body.
A body shot lands from Wilson.
Wilson misses with a body punch.
Wilson tries a body shot but Karter blocks it.
Karter throws a punch but it's blocked by Wilson.
Wilson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Wilson has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Karter seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Wilson can turn it around.
Karter softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Wilson scores with a nice short uppercut.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Wilson.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Wilson.
Karter misses with the head strike.
Wilson lands a right hand.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Blade Wilson dominated that round.
That's time! Karter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Wilson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Karter looks to score with a jab to the body but Wilson is just out of range.
Karter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wilson.
Karter lands a jab to the head.

Karter lands a big head kick that sends Wilson tumbling to the mat! Karter takes a step backwards and waves Wilson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Wilson is rocked!

It looks like Blade Wilson has been cut.
Karter waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wilson.
Wilson throws out a counter right but Karter avoids it with no problem.
Wilson is still on wobbly legs! Can Karter finish him?
Karter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wilson manages to avoid it.
Wilson seems to have recovered his senses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Karter looks to land a right hand but Wilson moved out of range.
Wilson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Wilson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilson tries to clinch
and Wilson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wilson chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Karter swings away with a body shot that misses
and Wilson counters with a series of strikes. Karter will be more careful next time no doubt.
Karter throws a poor cross that misses
and Wilson counters with a right hand to the body.
Wilson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Wilson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Wilson feints a counter leg kick.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Wilson in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Karter throws a poor cross that misses
and Wilson counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Karter to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Wilson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Blade Wilson!

Red Jesus Karter spoke after the fight, saying 'Go fuck yourselves '.
