Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Krisko Kurtev (ranked 550 p4p, 930 weight class) and Schwartz Gomez (ranked 78 p4p, 116 weight class). Gomez has chosen POP SMOKE - GOT IT ON ME as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurtev shoots in for a takedown but Gomez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kurtev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kurtev lands in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kurtev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gomez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kurtev presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Kurtev has hold of one of Gomez's legs. Gomez is fighting the takedown attempt but Kurtev gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A looping hook to the body misses from Gomez. Kurtev does a little dance to reset his feet.
