Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Dawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Terry Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Dawson.
Ryan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Dawson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Dawson connects with a right hand. Ryan shakes it off.
Ryan takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dawson scores with a hook.
A shot to the liver by Dawson. Beautiful body shot.
Dawson lands the left hand.
Nice shot lands for Dawson.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryan avoids the head kick by Dawson.
Dawson scores with a shot to the body.
Dawson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Dawson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Jab, jab by Dawson - just one landing.
Dawson getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dawson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Ryan is rocked!
Ryan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ryan is still on wobbly legs! Can Dawson finish him?
Dawson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Ryan's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Dawson dives in looking to finish as Ryan flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Dawson's strikes! Dawson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Ryan's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Ryan was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Dawson!
