And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 17 - 2, fighting out of New York, Eduardo Corassa!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Corassa throws a lazy body kick
letting Albatross counter with a right hand.
Corassa tries to score with a low kick but Albatross moves his leg out of the way.
Corassa throws a leg kick that is checked
and Albatross counters with a three punch combo that has Corassa backing up. Corassa nods at Albatross to acknowledge the strikes.

And Albatross counters with a quick kick to the body but Corassa blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Eduardo Corassa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Corassa. Albatross does a little dance to reset his feet.

Corassa throws a chopping leg kick but Albatross manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Albatross uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Corassa.

and Albatross counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Corassa has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Corassa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Albatross was well out of range. Poor timing from Corassa.
Albatross lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Albatross checks a leg kick nicely.
Albatross quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Corassa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Albatross manages to avoid it.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Corassa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Albatross has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Albatross and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

and Albatross counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Corassa throws a lazy right hand but Albatross sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Albatross is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Corassa can do to turn this around?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
