Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Slam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chozen Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie avoids the body shot from Slam.
Gracie feints the counter takedown.
Gracie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Slam finds it's way round the side to connect with Gracie's head.
It looks like Chozen Gracie has been cut.
Slam throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Slam throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gracie has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Slam ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Slam cracks Gracie with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Slam has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Gracie to stand back up!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Slam points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Gracie wakes up just in time to hear Slam thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ben Slam!
A relieved looking Ben Slam thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
