Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kulata Bitok (ranked 24085 p4p, 24429 weight class) and Ryder Morningstar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 38 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kulata Bitok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ryder Morningstar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morningstar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Morningstar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And Bitok counters with a quick kick to the body but Morningstar blocks it.
Bitok drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Morningstar throws an off balance right hand
and Bitok counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Bitok slips under a jab from Morningstar.
Bitok appears to be looking for a big counter.
Morningstar scores with a jab to the body.
Morningstar throws a right hand that misses
and Bitok counters with a nice body kick.
Morningstar throws a head kick that misses

and Bitok counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Morningstar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bitok just stands there and leans against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bitok wants the takedown. Morningstar is fighting it off but Bitok persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Morningstar's guard against the cage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morningstar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Morningstar is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Morningstar tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bitok is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Morningstar wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Bitok is now in half guard.

Bitok is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Morningstar is just riding it out for now. Bitok eventually gives up the hold.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Morningstar is trying to stand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bitok has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bitok there as he acknowledges the shot.

Morningstar throws a poor cross that misses
and Bitok counters with a nice kick to the body.
Morningstar swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Morningstar throws a jab when Bitok was well out of range.
Bitok jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Bitok has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Bitok counters by clinching up.

Bitok has Morningstar pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bitok pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Morningstar tumbling to the mat - Bitok dives into Morningstar's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bitok advances position into side control!

Bitok is looking to take a break and control but Morningstar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Morningstar is trying to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morningstar can't do much from the bottom here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Morningstar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bitok wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Kulata Bitok will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Bitok counters with a nice double leg into side control. Morningstar won't be happy with that.

Morningstar tries to buck Bitok off but Bitok is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morningstar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bitok haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bitok knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morningstar on the ground.

Morningstar is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bitok is controlling him well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Morningstar throws a lazy head kick
and Bitok counters with a nice low kick that buckles Morningstar's knee momentarily.

Bitok gets a takedown into half guard.
Morningstar tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Bitok manages to move to mount!
Morningstar is breathing heavily.
Bitok tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Morningstar tries to reverse the position but Bitok maintains control.
Morningstar wants to hold on but Bitok pushes him away.
Morningstar is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kulata Bitok overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bitok controlling the position easily from mount.
Bitok postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Morningstar looks a forlorn figure.

Bitok lands a heavy elbow.
Morningstar wants to control but Bitok is having none of it.
Bitok controlling from the full mount.
Morningstar is looking to get to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bitok controlling the pace for now.
Morningstar is trying to stand.
Bitok looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Bitok gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Morningstar missing with a left hand there. Bitok was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Morningstar is looking for a sweep. Bitok is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Morningstar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Morningstar is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bitok jumps into side control!
The referee asks Bitok politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bitok prefers to stall for the moment though.

Morningstar throws a nice looking combination but Bitok bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
It looked like Bitok was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Bitok has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Morningstar finds it's way round the side to connect with Bitok's head.
Ryder Morningstar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bitok jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Ryder Morningstar seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bitok blocks a head kick by Morningstar.
It appears Bitok was looking to counter with a kick there.
Ryder Morningstar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Morningstar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bitok to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bitok not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kulata Bitok is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Morningstar is trying to hold Bitok in close to prevent damage but Bitok has managed to pass into half guard.
Ryder Morningstar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kulata Bitok.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bitok, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
