PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Efim Gracie (ranked 3195 p4p, 2987 weight class) and Shams Charania (ranked 253 p4p, 233 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with The Reunion- Eminem ft. Royce Da 5'9 blaring out of the sound system. Shams Charania has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shams Charania!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie connects with a right hand. Charania shakes it off.

It looks like Shams Charania has been cut.
Charania has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Charania walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Charania shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Gracie and Charania goes tumbling to the canvas! Gracie follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Charania is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Charania regains full guard. Nicely done.
Charania is still in real trouble! Can Gracie finish him?

Charania working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Charania is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
