The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soederblom lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Sloppy strikes from Suraman. Those never looked like landing.

Suraman misses with a takedown attempt - Soederblom sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Soederblom looks to land a combination. Suraman sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Suraman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Soederblom to the ground. Suraman is now in Soederblom's guard.
Soederblom is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Suraman pushes down on Soederblom's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Suraman is looking to take a break and control but Soederblom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Suraman connects with a nice short shot to Soederblom's temple.
