PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Titan Zeus (ranked 1311 p4p, 3365 weight class) and Stipe Miocic (ranked 153 p4p, 366 weight class). Miocic has chosen Till I Die as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zeus clinches.
Miocic is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Zeus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Miocic throws a predictable looking body shot
and Zeus counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Zeus tries to clinch up.
Miocic with the counter takedown but Zeus avoids it easily.
Miocic misses the shot to the body.

Zeus closes the distance and clinches.

Zeus manages to break the clinch.
Zeus tries to bum rush Miocic with a series of wild strikes but Miocic uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Miocic looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Zeus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Miocic was well out of range. Poor timing from Zeus.

Zeus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Miocic manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Zeus lands with a nice combination. Miocic backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Stipe Miocic has been cut.
The crowd cheers as Zeus lands an impressive looking overhand right. Miocic doesn't seem phased though.

Zeus tries to close the distance and clinch but Miocic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Miocic steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Zeus.
Zeus doesn't manage to clinch there - Miocic circles away.
Zeus rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miocic moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Miocic swings for the body but Zeus moves out of range.
Zeus tries to clinch up but Miocic circles away and keeps his distance.
Zeus throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

As Miocic looks to move away, Zeus throws a big counter combo but Miocic just gets out of the way.
Zeus scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Miocic fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zeus manages to avoid it.

Miocic ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zeus moves away.

Zeus wants to clinch.
Zeus tries to clinch up.
Miocic circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zeus moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Zeus closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Zeus has taken the fight to the clinch.

Zeus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Zeus clinches with his opponent.
Zeus lands a knee to the head.
Zeus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Miocic 's elbow.
Zeus lands a nice uppercut.
Still in the clinch, Zeus scores with a nice short uppercut.

A right hook to the body lands for Zeus.

Zeus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miocic swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Zeus counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zeus works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Zeus fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Zeus lands a body shot.
Miocic throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Zeus counter with a right hand.

Zeus gets a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zeus landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Zeus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Zeus is looking to clinch but Miocic is avoiding it.
Zeus lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Zeus lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Zeus is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Miocic hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Titan Zeus!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Titan Zeus waved his t-shirt featuring Northern Zombie's logo in front of the cameras.
The defeated Stipe Miocic had this to say: 'I gave it my all in there tonight, but unfortunately, it didn't go my way. My opponent was tough and brought their A-game. I'll take this loss as a learning experience and come back even stronger. I want to thank my team, coaches, and fans for their support. I'll be back in the gym, working harder t'.
