Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Venegas (ranked 1643 p4p, 891 weight class) and Reico Huust (ranked 148 p4p, 88 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Venegas !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Reico Huust!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huust connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Huust jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nice takedown defense from Huust. No joy for Venegas on that attempt.
Frankie Venegas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Huust fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Venegas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Huust paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Huust fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Venegas .
Huust throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Venegas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Venegas is looking to clinch.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Huust - that will leave a mark!
Huust lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Venegas works Huust's body with a nice hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Venegas clinches up with Huust and pushes him back against the cage.

Venegas turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Venegas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Huust has escaped the position, nice work there.
Venegas wants to control but Huust is keeping him busy.

Venegas looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Venegas trying to control the action but Huust is working from the bottom.

Venegas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Venegas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Venegas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Venegas misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Huust is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Venegas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Huust can't do much from the bottom here.

Huust looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Venegas laying and praying for a moment but Huust takes advantage and regains half guard.
Venegas is controlling the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Venegas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Huust is just riding it out for now. Venegas eventually gives up the hold.

Venegas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Huust doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Venegas .

That was a close round but I would say that Frankie Venegas will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Huust dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Venegas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Huust swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Huust lands a nice looking kick to the body. Venegas takes a step back to recover.

Venegas clinches up with Huust and pushes him back against the cage.
Venegas is looking for a takedown.

Huust can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Venegas controls the pace.

Venegas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Huust manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Venegas has Huust in his guard.

Reico Huust showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Huust makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Venegas goes for a takedown attempt but Huust pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Huust tries a body shot but Venegas blocks it.

Venegas seems to be working for a kimura but Huust defends the submission attempt.
Venegas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Huust with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Huust tries to get to full guard but Venegas has control of the leg.

Venegas frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Venegas tries to control but Huust wriggling away.
Venegas throws some wild stikes that Huust manages to avoid easily.

Venegas is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Huust has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Huust!
Huust must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Venegas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Huust defends it easily.

Huust is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Venegas is controlling Huust's posture.

Venegas looking for subs off his back but Huust has passed one foot through into half guard.
Venegas is trying to control but can't.

Frankie Venegas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Venegas makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Venegas .
Venegas wants to sweep here but Huust controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Venegas is looking for a triangle but Huust pushes his legs off easily.
Venegas is controlling Huust's posture.

Venegas has his foot on Huust's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Huust works his way back into a safe position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Venegas looking for a sweep. Not yet Venegas , not yet.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Venegas is looking to stand up but Huust isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Huust scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

I would just about give that final round to Reico Huust.
I think Huust has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
