Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong lands with a kick to the temple. Johnson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kong waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Johnson.
Kong's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kong duly obliges.

It looks like Mike Johnson has been cut.
Johnson misses with a hook
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Johnson connects with a jab.
Kong swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johnson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Mike Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson takes one on the button.
Kong moves away from the strike by Johnson.
It appears Kong was looking to counter with a kick there.
Kong uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.
Kong throws a body kick that misses.
Kong takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Kong. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johnson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kong scores with a nice body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson tries to clinch but Kong is having none of it.
It looked like Kong was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kong throws a right and a left that both miss.
Johnson throws a lazy uppercut
and Kong counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Johnson thinking.
Johnson misses with a combination

and Kong counters with a series of strikes that sends Johnson to the canvas! Kong follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Johnson is rocked!
Kong is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.

Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet.
Kong looking to pass the guard.
Kong looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Johnson is pulling down on Kong's head to control his posture.
Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kong tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Johnson swings widly with a right hand
and Kong cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Johnson cracks Kong with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson throws an off balance right hand
enabling Kong to counter with a crisp jab.
Kong takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Kong.
Kong throws a nice outside leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson swings widly with a right hand
and Kong counters with a nice leg kick.
Kong connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kong uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Johnson.
Johnson misses with an uppercut.
Johnson throws a right hand that misses
and Kong counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Johnson connects with the punch.
Kong lands a nice hook to Johnson's body. Johnson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Johnson missing with a left hand there. Kong was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kong throwing a counter right hand but Johnson manages to avoid it.

Johnson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Johnson throws a poor cross that misses
and Kong counters with a left to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Kong counters with a nice uppercut.
Kong defending well as Johnson loads up on a big left hand.
Kong misses with the combination.
Johnson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Johnson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kong.
Kong lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Johnson misses with an uppercut
and Kong counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Kong to acknowledge the strikes.
Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Kong finish him?
Kong fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Johnson seems to have recovered his senses.
Johnson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Johnson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Johnson misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Kong cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

King Kong dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mike Johnson's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kong throws a big counter combination but Johnson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Kong connects with an inside leg kick.
Kong connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Johnson walks into a left hand.
Johnson swings widly with a right hand
and Kong counters with a big right hand! Oh Johnson is in trouble here! Kong follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Kong!
