Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between World Peace (ranked 1041 p4p, 1548 weight class) and Amakusa Saneuji (ranked 77 p4p, 108 weight class). Peace comes to the cage accompanied by Crazy. Saneuji has chosen Zen Spirit as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Amakusa Saneuji was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, World Peace!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Amakusa Saneuji!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saneuji gets the takedown into side control.

Saneuji looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Peace sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Saneuji is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Peace is just riding it out for now. Saneuji eventually gives up the hold.

Saneuji is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Saneuji has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Catch Wrestling L.A.. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Peace is trying to control but can't.

Saneuji is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Peace trying to hold on to Saneuji's head to control him but Saneuji postures up.

Saneuji is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Peace doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Saneuji.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Saneuji is looking for a kimura but Peace is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Saneuji to get the leverage.

Peace tries to get to full guard but Saneuji has control of the leg.

Saneuji seems to be working for a kimura but Peace defends the submission attempt.

Saneuji is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Peace might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Peace is defending against the submission attempts here by Saneuji.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Peace misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Saneuji is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Peace looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Saneuji frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Peace is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Saneuji looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Saneuji looking for a guillotine from mount but Peace is having none of it.
Peace is in all sorts of trouble here.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Saneuji has control of Peace's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Peace regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Saneuji has isolated one of Peace's arms. Peace looking to fight him off but Saneuji twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Amakusa Saneuji!
Amakusa Saneuji is the new bantamweight champion!
After winning the bout, Amakusa Saneuji thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
