Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexus Argento (ranked 808 p4p, 1164 weight class) and Peter Kowalski (ranked 99 p4p, 131 weight class). Argento comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski moves out of range as Argento strikes.
Kowalski throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Argento sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Peter Kowalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kowalski is defended easily by Argento.
Kowalski misses with a left hand
and Argento counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kowalski enables Argento to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kowalski manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Argento wants to pass the guard but Kowalski is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kowalski looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Argento puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Kowalski is staying active underneath Argento, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Argento throwing strikes but missing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Kowalski is pulling down on Argento's head to control his posture.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Kowalski. No joy for Argento on that attempt.
A head kick misses from Argento.
Kowalski connects with a nice looking jab.
Argento takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Argento counters with a good low kick that Kowalski was not able to check.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kowalski darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Argento takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kowalski shoots in but no luck this time.
Argento keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kowalski.
Kowalski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Argento defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kowalski.
Alexus Argento has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Kowalski.
Kowalski drops his hands momentarily and Argento takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kowalski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Argento circles away.
Kowalski throws a right and a left that Argento avoids nicely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kowalski closes the distance and clinches up with Argento, looking for a takedown. Kowalski pushes Argento against the cage but Argento circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Argento is looking to counter with head kicks.
Argento stuffs the takedown attempt from Kowalski. Kowalski gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Argento counters with a crisp one two that drops Kowalski! Argento thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Kowalski to his feet! Kowalski is in big trouble!
Nice sprawl there from Argento as Kowalski shoots in.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Peter Kowalski will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A relieved looking Alexus Argento thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
