Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Du Klippt (ranked 3706 p4p, 4844 weight class) and Luis Ruiz (ranked 283 p4p, 344 weight class). Luis Ruiz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klippt throws the left hand but Ruiz avoids the punch easily.
Despite the aggression on Ruiz's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

and Klippt counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Klippt.
Klippt tries to land knees in the clinch but Ruiz avoids the damage to the body.

Ruiz is fighting off a takedown attempt but Klippt is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ruiz to the mat. Ruiz regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Klippt throws a big shot that misses.
Ruiz unleashes a big counter combination but Klippt bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Klippt throws a lazy right hand but Ruiz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ruiz slips a jab from Klippt.
Klippt's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ruiz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Klippt scrambles back to his feet.

Klippt throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ruiz throws a series of punches but Klippt moves out of range.

Klippt has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ruiz uses from the top position.

Klippt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ruiz's guard.

Klippt looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

After the fight, Du Klippt was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
