Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fortunado Sampaio (ranked 428 p4p, 240 weight class) and Leon Smith (ranked 55 p4p, 35 weight class). Sampaio comes to the cage accompanied by Corre Riba Corre Baixo. Leon Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a left hand
letting Sampaio counter with a right hand.
Crunch! Smith slams his shin into Sampaio's torso.
Sampaio circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nice straight punches there by Smith. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Smith.
Sampaio throws a solid leg kick but Smith takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sampaio.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sampaio paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith misses with a wild combination.
Leon Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sampaio momentarily.
Sampaio scores with a hook.
Sampaio misses the jab.
Smith throws a big shot that misses.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Sampaio swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A shot to the body from Smith misses
and Sampaio counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A telegraphed right hand from Smith misses the target.
Sampaio on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Smith throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Smith.
Sampaio has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight.
Smith fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Smith throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sampaio swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Smith throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Sampaio takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Smith feints a jab promting Sampaio to slip. Smith then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sampaio slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sampaio avoids a kick to the body.
Sampaio appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Smith lands a nice hook to Sampaio's body. Sampaio takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sampaio. Sampaio obviously looking to wear him down.
Smith lets loose with a powerful body kick. Sampaio will feel that in the morning.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Smith has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Sampaio.

Smith throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Smith fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sampaio on the side of the head.
Sampaio will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

A jab lands there for Smith.

It looks like Fortunado Sampaio has been cut.
Smith tries to bum rush Sampaio with a series of wild strikes but Sampaio uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith lands with a good body shot.
Smith lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Smith scores with a spinning back kick!
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Sampaio ducks right into an uppercut from Smith.
Smith's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sampaio under the eye.

Sampaio is rocked!

Smith feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sampaio sprawling to the canvas! Sampaio rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Smith finish him?!
Oh Sampaio is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Smith throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Sampaio walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Smith! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
