PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Wilson (ranked 1890 p4p, 1854 weight class) and Cody Dillon (ranked 227 p4p, 221 weight class). Wilson comes to the cage accompanied by Painkiller. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, The Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cody Dillon!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dillon tries to avoid it but Wilson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dillon to the ground. Dillon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dillon as he avoids it easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dillon feints a jab promting Wilson to slip. Dillon then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wilson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like The Wilson has been cut.

Wilson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dillon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dillon bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dillon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wilson.
Dillon lands a really nice looking cross but Wilson seems unphased.
Dillon swats away the attempt to clinch by Wilson.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dillon has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Dillon lands the left hand.
Dillon cracks a nice hook into Wilson's ribs.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dillon, as that shot connected.
Wilson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Wilson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dillon's guard.
Wilson misses with a head shot. Dillon uses the momentum to regain guard.
Dillon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Wilson's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Dillon wants to stand and escape but Wilson is having none of it.
Dillon keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully.
Wilson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dillon's head.
Dillon wants to get back to his feet but Wilson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dillon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wilson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dillon wants to stand up but Wilson is controlling him.

Wilson chips away with some ground and pound.

Wilson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Dillon manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Dillon takes a jab right on the kisser.
Wilson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wilson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A little jabbing left from Dillon on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dillon looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Wilson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wilson.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wilson feints and as Dillon raises his hands in defense, Wilson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dillon wants to stand but Wilson is controlling the position.

The Wilson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wilson advances to half guard.
Dillon is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dillon is trying to stand.

Wilson slips a nice elbow through Dillon's hands, connecting with Dillon's forehead.

Dillon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dillon seems to have recovered his senses.
Dillon is trying to stand up here but Wilson is controlling him well.
Wilson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Wilson is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Dillon is hurt! He's hurt bad - Wilson fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Dillon from any more punishment! Congratulations to Wilson! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Wilson!
The Wilson got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
