PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kisane Xushu (ranked 4564 p4p, 4420 weight class) and Luiz Carboza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carboza fails in his attempt to clinch.
Xushu really is a fat lump.
Xushu throws a nice looking combination but Carboza bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Xushu shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carboza's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Xushu stands and throws Carboza's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Carboza is looking to get back to his feet here but Xushu is keeping cool and he's managed to take Carboza's back.

Xushu is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Xushu gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Xushu gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Xushu apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Xushu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Xushu is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Xushu pushes down on Carboza's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Xushu is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Carboza is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
