PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between rocky punch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and heavy weight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). heavy weight will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, rocky punch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, heavy weight!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for weight with that takedown attempt.
rocky punch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
punch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but weight moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
weight swings for the body but punch moves out of range.
weight will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
punch lands a really nice looking cross but weight seems unphased.

weight ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. weight no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

weight has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but punch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
punch wants to control from the top but weight keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, punch creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

and weight counters with a nice low kick that buckles punch's knee momentarily.
weight has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from punch finds it's way round the side to connect with weight's head.
punch closes the distance and clinches up with weight, looking for a takedown. punch pushes weight against the ropes but weight circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
