Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Cason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cason paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cason feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rua has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cason off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Rua fails in his attempt to clinch.

Cason closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rua gets back to half guard.
Rua regains full guard. Nicely done.
Cason must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cason thows a big elbow that misses.
Cason postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Cason postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Cason throws a big right hand that misses.

Cason stands up over Rua, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Cason working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rua's head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rua avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cason connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Cason lands with some strikes.

Rua is rocked!

Cason postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Rua badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Cason around the waist but Cason pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Cason is the winner by TKO! Cason jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
