Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Toshika Koga (ranked 3325 p4p, 3595 weight class) and Killer Kid (ranked 266 p4p, 286 weight class). Kid has chosen The Machine as his entrance music. Toshika Koga has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Toshika Koga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Killer Kid!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kid closes the distance and pushes Koga back into the cage.
Koga wants to take the fight to the mat but Kid manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Koga works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Koga controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kid striking off his back but it's not causing Koga any problems.
Koga controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koga pushing down on Kid's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koga seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Koga has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koga has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Koga.
Kid is looking for a sweep.
Kid gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Kid is in all sorts of trouble here.

Koga's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Koga seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kid for as long as he can get away with.

Koga moves to the back.
Koga keeps control of the position easily here as Kid tries to buck him off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
You can see the frustration on Kid's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Koga is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kid can do to turn this around?
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Koga is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Koga has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kid!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Koga continues to hold on tight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Koga has the hooks in. Kid is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Koga just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Kid tries to escape but Koga has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Koga changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kid looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Koga is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kid's shoulder. That is not cool.
Koga advances to mount.
Koga tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kid has given up his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kid is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Kid is really stuck here.
Koga really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Kid.

Kid tries to escape but Koga has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Koga biding his time, controlling Kid.

Kid wants to escape the position.
Koga is riding his opponent, not letting Kid buck him off.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kid can't escape the position.
Koga controls the position.
Kid tries to roll but Koga sticks to his back.
Killer Kid has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Koga really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Kid.

Toshika Koga showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Koga, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
