Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Arvo Virtanen (ranked 4420 p4p, 5546 weight class) and Uchima Gonshiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arvo Virtanen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Uchima Gonshiro!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Gonshiro fails with a takedown attempt.
Gonshiro shoots in for a takedown but Virtanen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Virtanen looks up at the clock and then as Gonshiro takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Virtanen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Gonshiro is looking to sweep but instead, Virtanen has passed into half guard.
Still in half guard, Virtanen seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Virtanen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gonshiro has managed to free his arm - good work.
Virtanen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Gonshiro is looking to get back to full guard here but Virtanen has managed to pass to side control instead.
Virtanen controls the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gonshiro shoots in looking for a takedown but Virtanen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gonshiro's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gonshiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Virtanen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Virtanen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gonshiro wants to sweep but Virtanen has passed to side control!
Virtanen looks up at the clock and then as Gonshiro takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Virtanen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
