Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Micah Hawk (ranked 3998 p4p, 22214 weight class) and Henry Bowes (ranked 454 p4p, 669 weight class). Henry Bowes has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Micah Hawk's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micah Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henry Bowes!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowes lands an overhand right.

Bowes pushes Hawk up against the cage in a clinch.
Hawk tries to pull guard but Bowes won't allow it.
Bowes struggles to land a body shot inside as Hawk controls his hands.
Bowes has a couple of punches blocked by Hawk.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bowes takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
A short uppercut from Bowes.
Bowes goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hawk blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hawk being controlled against the cage.
Bowes lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bowes makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Bowes lands a hook that snaps the head of Hawk backwards.

Hawk manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bowes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hawk looking for subs off his back but Bowes has passed one foot through into half guard.
Bowes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bowes wants to stand but Hawk has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Bowes passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hawk!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawk slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Bowes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bowes is trying to control. Hawk wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bowes is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Bowes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Hawk trying to hold on to Bowes's head to control him but Bowes postures up.
Bowes wants to stand up but Hawk is controlling the position.
Bowes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bowes wants to take a breather but Hawk is having none of it.
Bowes drops an elbow to the side of Hawk's head.
Bowes is trying to control the action in half guard but Hawk is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hawk tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Bowes has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hawk tries to hold on but Bowes postures up.

Bowes lands with some strikes.
Hawk manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Bowes moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Hawk.
You can see the frustration on Hawk's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hawk takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Bowes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawk keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawk is letting Bowes control him for a moment.

Bowes throws a strike aimed at the side of Hawk's head but Hawk avoids it well.
Hawk is looking for a sweep.
Bowes looks up at the clock and then as Hawk takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bowes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Bowes is looking to take a break and control but Hawk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bowes tries to stand but Hawk is controlling his head.
Bowes landing strikes.
Hawk struggling a bit here.
Hawk is trying to improve his position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Henry Bowes dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bowes comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bowes thuds a left hand into Hawk's body.
A left lands for Bowes.
Bowes scores with a body shot.
Bowes looks to throw the jab but Hawk is out of range.
Hawk looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Bowes lands with a straight right. Hawk didn't see that one coming.

Hawk is rocked!
Bowes feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hawks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Oh Hawk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bowes pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hawk changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Bowes lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Hawk tries for a takedown but Bowes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hawk looks for a takedown but Bowes sprawls well.
Henry Bowes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bowes scores with a hook to the body. Hawk takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hawk seems to have got his legs back now.
Henry Bowes seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hawk blocks a body shot from Bowes.
Hawk fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micah Hawk. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bowes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bowes misses the shot to the body.
An attempted straight right counter from Hawk misses the target.
Bowes throws a jab but it's blocked by Hawk.
Bowes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hawk.

Hawk moves away from the strike by Bowes.
Bowes with a hook.

Hawk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bowes's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hawk is fighting to break Bowes's control of his arms but Bowes is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Bowes looking for a sweep. Not yet Bowes, not yet.
Hawk tries to free his leg and advance position but Bowes is retaining full guard.
Hawk wants to control from the top but Bowes keeps moving.
Hawk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bowes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hawk throws an elbow that misses. Bowes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hawk's guard. Nice move by Bowes!

Hawk is looking for a triangle but Bowes pushes his legs off easily.
Hawk keeping moving, preventing Bowes from controlling successfully.
Bowes wants to pass the guard but Hawk is keeping the position.
Bowes trying to control the position from guard on top but Hawk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hawk has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bowes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Henry Bowes has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bowes is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hawk trying to control the position.
Bowes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hawk is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bowes defends well.

Hawk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bowes defends it easily.

Henry Bowes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Bowes lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bowes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hawk keeps the fight on the outside.

Bowes rushes Hawk and presses him up against the cage.
Hawk tries to pull guard but Bowes holds him up against the cage and eventually Hawk drops back down to his feet.
Bowes tries to throw a body punch but Hawk avoids it by throwing Bowes back against the cage.
Bowes gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hawk.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bowes lands a nice shot to the body.
Still in the clinch, Bowes scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hawk's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Bowes breaks the clinch.

Bowes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bowes connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hawk. Hawk circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hawk on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bowes throws the left hand but Hawk avoids the punch easily.
Bowes misses with a jab to the body

and Hawk counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bowes!
The ground and pound from Hawk seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Hawk goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bowes rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hawk's guard! Nice work there by Bowes!
Hawk wants to sweep here but Bowes controlling him for the moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bowes wants to get up but he can't break Hawk's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bowes is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Bowes slips a nice elbow through Hawk's hands, connecting with Hawk's forehead.

Bowes wants to pass to mount but Hawk is defending the position.
Hawk regains full guard. Nicely done.

Henry Bowes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bowes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Henry Bowes decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
