PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Not Ponor (ranked 3219 p4p, 2198 weight class) and David Brent (ranked 491 p4p, 353 weight class). Brent has chosen Ladies and Gentlemen as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Not Ponor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Brent!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brent misses with a hook. Ponor ducked under it nicely.
Ponor looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Brent throws a head kick but Ponor moves out of range.
Brent looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Brent slips a jab from Ponor.
Brent throws out a counter right but Ponor avoids it with no problem.
Brent throws a lazy uppercut
and Ponor counters with a good low kick that Brent was not able to check.
Brent throws an off balance right hand
and Ponor counters with a nice uppercut.
Brent moves away from the strike by Ponor.
Brent throws a lazy head kick
letting Ponor counter with a right hand.

It looks like David Brent has been cut.
Brent pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brent throws a hook but Ponor blocks it.
Ponor uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brent.
Ponor scores with a head kick.
Brent misses with an uppercut. Ponor saw that one coming.
Ponor throws a quick counter kick to the body but Brent avoids it.
David Brent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brent misses with a right hand
enabling Ponor to counter with a crisp jab.

Brent is rocked!
Brent misses with a looping right.

Brent walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Ponor rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Brent has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
Brent is still on wobbly legs! Can Ponor finish him?
The fighters circling - Brent throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brent seems to have recovered his senses.
A telegraphed right hand from Brent misses the target.
Ponor pulls out of a head kick attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big right from Ponor misses.
Brent rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and as Brent tries to reset, Ponor cracks him with a perfect counter right hand that drops him to the mat! Brent is trying to get up but he's doing the chicken dance and face plants back to the floor - that's enough for the referee and he's called the bout! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Not Ponor!
A very excited looking Not Ponor made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
