PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Nimoy (ranked 2021 p4p, 1420 weight class) and Khuchtei Bokhchuud (ranked 294 p4p, 222 weight class). Bokhchuud has chosen ErgeSholee Biste Turda as his entrance music. Leonard Nimoy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Khuchtei Bokhchuud!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Nimoy misses its intended target.
Bokhchuud misses with a kick to the body
and Nimoy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Khuchtei Bokhchuud has been cut.
Nimoy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bokhchuud.
Bokhchuud tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Nimoy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Nimoy fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bokhchuud looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nimoy blocks a head kick by Bokhchuud.

It looked like Nimoy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Nimoy takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bokhchuud doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Nimoy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bokhchuud thinking.
Nice shot lands for Nimoy.
Nimoy fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bokhchuud throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bokhchuud throws a looping overhand right but Nimoy ducks down to avoid it.
Bokhchuud throws out a loose jab but Nimoy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bokhchuud scores with a jab. Nimoy acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Nimoy lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Leonard Nimoy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bokhchuud takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bokhchuud throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nimoy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Nimoy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Nimoy sends Bokhchuud crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Nimoy is motioning to the referee to let Bokhchuud up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Bokhchuud is rocked!

That has opened up Khuchtei Bokhchuud's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nimoy lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Bokhchuud up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Nimoy from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Bokhchuud's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Leonard Nimoy!
Khuchtei Bokhchuud was interviewed post fight and said 'Сайн байна "Sain baina"-Translation well Shit!'.
