Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Motts (ranked 866 p4p, 966 weight class) and Dimitri Svyatogor (ranked 37 p4p, 43 weight class). Dimitri Svyatogor acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregory Motts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 22 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimitri Svyatogor!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motts throws a lazy uppercut
and Svyatogor counters with a stiff right hand.
Motts jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Motts misses with a left hand
letting Svyatogor counter with a right hand.
Svyatogor thows a left - swing and a miss!
Motts throws a poor cross that misses
and Motts takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Motts throws a body shot but no joy.

Svyatogor cracks Motts with a big right hand and Motts goes down!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Motts pulls Svyatogor in close to his closed guard and prevents Svyatogor from doing any damage or advancing position.

Svyatogor looking to sit in guard and control but Motts gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Svyatogor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Svyatogor wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Motts is now in half guard.

Motts wants to free his trapped foot but Svyatogor is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Motts in particular looking to stall.
Svyatogor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Motts is working away from the top position though.
Motts passes into side control, despite Svyatogor's attempt to control the position.

Svyatogor felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Svyatogor tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Motts easily slips into full mount!

Motts can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Svyatogor is looking to escape.

We've been hearing good reports from Motts's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Motts darts in and clinches Svyatogor up against the ropes.
Svyatogor lands an elbow that stopped Motts in his tracks for a moment.
Svyatogor pushes off an throws an elbow but Motts leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Motts.
Motts doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Motts can't find room to land a body shot as Svyatogor controls the action.

Motts's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

It looks like Gregory Motts has been cut.
Svyatogor has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Motts tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Svyatogor jumps guard and drags Motts to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Svyatogor tries to control Motts's body but Motts pushes him off. Svyatogor squirms to his side and now Motts has his back!
Motts is looking to control Svyatogor but Svyatogor is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Motts gets his hands free as Svyatogor looks to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Svyatogor is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Motts is staying active.
Motts keeps control of the position easily here as Svyatogor tries to buck him off.
I really don't envy Svyatogor right now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Motts just misses with a punch to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Svyatogor! But no joy.
Svyatogor has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Motts waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Svyatogor.
Motts scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Motts connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Svyatogor looks to score with a jab to the body but Motts is just out of range.

Nice straight punches there by Svyatogor. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Svyatogor.
Motts closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Svyatogor! Motts dives in looking to finish! Svyatogor is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gregory Motts!
An out of breath Gregory Motts thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
