Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jukko Hamalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamalainen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by the Finnish National Anthem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jukko Hamalainen!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hamalainen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hamalainen showed some decent athleticism there.

Mir pushes Hamalainen off looking to stand but Hamalainen dives back in and keeps control.

Mir has one foot on Hamalainen's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Mir lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hamalainen!
Hamalainen wants to hold on but Mir pushes him away.
Hamalainen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mir kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mir stands up from mount. Strange move.
The fighters circling - Hamalainen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mir swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Hamalainen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mir to the mat! Mir manages to get full guard.

Mir has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hamalainen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hamalainen pushes down on Mir's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mir is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hamalainen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hamalainen's back!
You can see the frustration on Hamalainen's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Despite being in a bad position, Hamalainen is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts.
Mir tries to get the hooks in deep but Hamalainen pushed the leg off.

Mir is looking for the choke from the back position but Hamalainen is controlling his hands well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mir is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hamalainen needs to keep his hands up - Mir had a free shot at his head there.
Jukko Hamalainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jab, jab by Mir - just one landing.
Mir takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hamalainen shoots for a double leg takedown but Mir sprawls well. He's pushed Hamalainen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hamalainen is not content to let Mir control the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Frank Mir will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Frank Mir showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Mir has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
