Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Nikolai Magomedov (ranked 22441 p4p, 4220 weight class) and Larry Lee (ranked 272 p4p, 206 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee misses with a double jab.
An attempted straight right counter from Magomedov misses the target.
Larry Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Magomedov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lee momentarily.

It looks like Larry Lee has been cut.
Lee throws a right hand that Magomedov ducks under and follows up with a left that Magomedov also avoids with ease.

No joy there for Lee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lee does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
It looked like Magomedov was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Lee.

Lee throws the left hand but Magomedov avoids the punch easily.

Magomedov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

I was talking to Magomedov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Lee has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Magomedov seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Lee can turn it around.
