Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hrvoje Kovacevic (ranked 305 p4p, 534 weight class) and Geezer Butler (ranked 47 p4p, 84 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butler connects with a looping right hand.
Kovacevic seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Kovacevic looks to throw the jab but Butler is out of range.
Butler takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Butler throws an overhand right that lands on Kovacevic's shoulder, as Kovacevic tries to avoid the shot.
Butler has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Butler misses with a wild body shot.
Butler takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Kovacevic lands a head shot.
Butler avoids the body shot from Kovacevic.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kovacevic drops Butler with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Butler looks back up at him and smiles so Kovacevic waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kovacevic feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Butler sprawling to the canvas! Butler rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kovacevic finish him?!
Butler walks into a left hand.

Butler is rocked!

Butler ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kovacevic. Butler does a little dance to reset his feet.
Butler thuds a left hand into Kovacevic's body.
Kovacevic throws a hook to the side of Butler's head but Butler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kovacevic's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Butler connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kovacevic scrambles back to his feet.
A combination from Butler does no damage.

Kovacevic swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A nice side step and Butler releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Kovacevic has managed to clinch.
Nice body punch from Kovacevic - that landed with a thud.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Butler.
Kovacevic tries to throw a body punch but Butler avoids it by throwing Kovacevic back against the cage.

Butler breaks from the clinch.
Kovacevic ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Butler moves away.
Butler misses with a right hand
and Kovacevic counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Butler thinking.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Butler gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kovacevic scores with the left hand. Butler knows he should have avoided that one.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Butler, as that shot connected.

Geezer Butler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kovacevic shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Butler throws an off balance right hand
and Butler takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kovacevic is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Butler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kovacevic manages to avoid it.
Kovacevic slips a straight right by Butler.
Kovacevic was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Butler swings for the body but Kovacevic moves out of range.

Butler slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Butler rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kovacevic counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kovacevic stuns Butler with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Butler takes a swing at Kovacevic's ribcage but misses.
Kovacevic ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Butler moves away.
Kovacevic is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Butler can do to turn this around?
