PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dorian Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dorian Grey had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 147.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dorian Grey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Brown!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dorian Grey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Grey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Grey has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.

Brown has his foot on Grey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Grey works his way back into a safe position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dorian Grey.
Well Grey has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
