Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Yankee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zacharia Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Steele's choice of entrance music: Rock You Like A Hurricane. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jim Yankee!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zacharia Steele!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yankee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A head kick misses from Yankee.
A good leg kick by Yankee.
Yankee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yankee is looking to score with low kicks.
Steele throws a body punch but Yankee moves out of range.
Steele throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A head kick by Steele misses
and Yankee makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Yankee looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Yankee connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Yankee defending well as Steele loads up on a big left hand.
Yankee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yankee blocks a jab.
Zacharia Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steele swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Yankee counters with a good, hard body kick but Steele shrugs it off.
Yankee throws a head kick that misses.
Steele tries a low kick but Yankee avoids it.
Yankee lands with a slapping head kick.
Yankee gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Steele throws a jab when Yankee was well out of range.

Steele with a lazy takedown attempt
and Yankee counters with a head kick.
Yankee misses with a head kick.
Steele looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Yankee throws a head kick that half lands.
Yankee dodges the punch combination from Steele.
Steele tries to close the distance and clinch but Yankee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Yankee throws a sloppy head kick
and Steele counters with a good low kick that Yankee was not able to check.
Yankee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Good exchange - Steele coming out on top.
Steele shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yankee as he jumps to the side.
Steele misses with a two punch combination.
Steele blocks a head kick by Yankee.

Yankee clinches with his opponent.

Yankee misses with an elbow over the top.
Yankee wants to stall.
Steele tries a body shot but Yankee blocks it.
Yankee is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Steele is defending well for now.

Yankee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Steele sizes up Yankee with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Yankee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Steele misses with a wild body shot.
Steele throws a looping overhand right but Yankee ducks down to avoid it.
Yankee tries a head kick but it misses.
Jim Yankee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Steele misses with an uppercut. Yankee saw that one coming.
Yankee lands with a kick to the temple. Steele shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Steele checks a low kick from Yankee.
Steele throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Jim Yankee has been cut.
Steele loads up on a big right hand but Yankee slips the punch.
Steele looks to land a right hand but Yankee moved out of range.
Steele throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Yankee stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Steele blocks a head kick by Yankee.
Yankee takes one to the chin there.
Steele tries to clinch up
and Yankee counters with a nice body kick.
Yankee ducks under a wild hook from Steele.
Yankee tries a head kick but it misses.
Yankee plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Steele waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Yankee.
Yankee misses with a body kick.
Yankee throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Steele throws a hook to the side of Yankee's head but Yankee sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Steele takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Steele throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Yankee stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Yankee walks into a left hand.
Steele fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Yankee clinches up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yankee is trying to break the clinch but Steele has him pressed against the cage.
Steele lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Yankee breaks the clinch.
Steele looks for a takedown but Yankee sprawls well.
Jim Yankee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zacharia Steele.
Yankee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Steele throws a right and a left that Yankee avoids nicely.
Steele pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Steele swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yankee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Steele lands a head kick. Yankee smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Steele tries to clinch up

and Yankee counters by clinching up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Yankee lands an elbow inside that Steele shrugs off.
Yankee stalls.
Steele tries to pull guard but Yankee won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Yankee dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jim Yankee's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Steele lands with a thumping leg kick.
Yankee throws a head kick that misses.
Steele throws a series of strikes that have Yankee backpedaling.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Yankee.
Yankee takes one on the button.
Steele swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Steele lands a head kick. Yankee smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


Yankee is rocked!
Good leg kick by Steele there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Oh Yankee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Steele blocks a head kick by Yankee.
Yankee seems to have got his legs back now.
Steele tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yankee was well out of range. Poor timing from Steele.
Steele takes a swing at Yankee's ribcage but misses.
Steele wants to slow Yankee down by chopping away at his legs.
Steele with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Yankee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yankee throws a head kick but Steele moves out of range.
Steele throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yankee swats away the attempt to clinch by Steele.
Steele throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yankee.
Yankee buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A head kick by Steele misses

and Yankee moves into the clinch.

Steele jumps guard and drags Yankee to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Steele keeping moving, preventing Yankee from controlling successfully.

Steele has his foot on Yankee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yankee works his way back into a safe position though.
Yankee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Steele looking for a guillotine here but Yankee defends easily.
Steele is breathing heavily.
Steele looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Steele had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Yankee is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Steele Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Yankee's back instead.

Steele has managed to slip his arm under Yankee's chin. This could be all over... yep, Yankee is tapping out! Submission win for Steele.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Zacharia Steele!
