PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Theodore Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Perko Late (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Late has chosen What You Say Feat Lil Wayne as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Theodore Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perko Late!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Late is looking to clinch.

Late fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fisher sprawls well initially but Late persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Late is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Late moves nicely into side control.
Late staying calm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fisher can't do much from the bottom here.
Late controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Late thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Late staying calm.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Despite being in the dominant position, Perko Late just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Late tries for a takedown but Fisher sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fisher stuffs the takedown.
Fisher throws a right and a left that Late avoids nicely.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Late.
Fisher prevents Late from improving position.
Late is staying tight to Fisher's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Fisher knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Late on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Theodore Fisher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Perko Late.

Late drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Late trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Late shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fisher sprawls well. Fisher wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Late gets slowly back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Late.
Late shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fisher pinned against the cage. Fisher gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Theodore Fisher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Perko Late.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Late shoots in but no luck this time.
Late misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Fisher getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Late tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fisher sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Late somewhat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Late is breathing heavily.
Late controlling from the full mount.
Late's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Late is working for a guillotine from mount but Fisher frees his head quite easily.
Late is looking to work his way around to Fisher's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Fisher tries to lock up and control but Late gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fisher prevents Late from taking his back.
Late controlling from mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Late there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Fisher has given up his back here. Will Late look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Late tightening his grip on Fisher, looking for the choke.
Late slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Late is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Fisher knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Fisher for a finish.

Late is persistently looking for the submission but Fisher is defending it well.

Late has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perko Late showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Fisher throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Late tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fisher swivels and escapes.
Late fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Late is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fisher's half guard.
Late passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fisher!
Fisher tries to hold on but Late pushes him away.
Late takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Late controlling the pace for now.

Late has hold of Fisher's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fisher manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Late looking to secure an arm triangle but Fisher defends it well.

Fisher tries to reverse the position but Late maintains control.
Late content just to control the position here.
Fisher can't escape the position.
Late controlling the position easily from mount.

Fisher seems a little lost for a moment, as Late dominates the positioning.

Late works to advance to full mount. Fisher defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Late sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Late goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fisher is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Perko Late comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Late winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
