Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Happy Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hello World (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Happy Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hello World!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day throws a head kick but World moves out of range.
World goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
World misses with a takedown attempt - Day sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice defenses there by Day.
Day chopping away at his opponent's legs.
World misses with a hook.
Day smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


It looks like Hello World has been cut.
Day throws a body punch but World moves out of range.
Day moves out of range of the strikes.

World feints and as Day raises his hands in defense, World changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Day trying to control the position.
World lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
World looking to sit in guard and control but Day gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Day is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
World trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Day wants to control from the top but World keeps moving.
World doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Day trying to control the position from guard on top but World is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Day drops back looking for a leg! World is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and World manages to kick Day off! Day jumps back into World's guard.
World throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
World has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A head kick misses from Day.
A big head kick from Day and World is sent sprawling to the canvas!


World is rocked!
World doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
World looking for a sweep. Not yet World, not yet.
World controls Day momentarily but Day frees himself.
World trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

World wants to control but Day passes easily into half guard.
Day prevents World from improving his position.
Day is keen to just control but World is a slippery customer.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Day avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Day has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Day there as he acknowledges the shot.
World misses with the combination.

Day clinches up against the cage.
World works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
World lands a shot to the body.
Day misses with a knee strike.
Day misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from World.
World lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Day crunches a lovely knee into World's ribcage.
World managing to block the knees to the body from Day.

World breaks from the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from World.
World throws out a loose jab but Day uses good head movement to avoid it.
World fails with a takedown attempt.
Happy Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hello World.
World looks gassed!
World lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Day circles away quickly and effectively.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
World looks to land a right hand but Day moved out of range.
World misses with a two punch combination.
World closes this distance looking for a takedown but Day circles away.
Day connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Day throws a head kick that misses.

Day has taken the fight to the clinch.
World working hard to break the clinch.
Day trying to land knees to the body.
Day using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Day unloads a knee to the mid-section.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Day lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Day using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Day lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Nice body punch from Day.
A right hook to the body lands for Day.
Day unloads a knee to the mid-section. World lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Happy Day dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hello World's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Day turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Day throws a quick inside leg kick.
Day throws a right hand that World ducks under and follows up with a left that World also avoids with ease.
World throws a lazy head kick
and Day counters with a nice body shot.
World tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Day connects with a vicious head kick that knocks World to the floor! Day dives in looking for the finish!
World is still in real trouble! Can Day finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Day scoring with strikes to the body and head.
World has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Day is working away from the top position though.
World seems to have recovered his senses.

Day is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Day is keen to just control but World is a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are battling for position here. World manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
World looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Day puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Day frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Day controlling from mount.
World tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Day lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
World has decided that throwing punches whilst being mounted is the best he can manage just now.
Day can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as World is looking to escape.
World is trying to escape the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
World wants to control but Day is having none of it.

World flails away from the bottom, looking to strike but he's give an arm to his opponent... uh oh. Day wraps up the arm in an instant and pivots for an armbar! Tap or snap time - World decides to tap! Lovely submission by Day!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Happy Day!
