The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wetton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McCocker on his heels. He'll look to pass McCocker's guard now, I'm sure.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wetton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

McCocker working for a triangle but Wetton defends it easily.
Wetton passes easily into side control. Nice work.
McCocker tries to buck Wetton off but Wetton is having none of it.

McCocker swings around for an armbar but Wetton sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into McCocker's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McCocker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wetton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McCocker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wetton is one step ahead there.
My spies in PhoQus Island Training inform me that Wetton has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

McCocker has his foot on Wetton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wetton works his way back into a safe position though.

Wetton is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. McCocker is defending well though. Wetton let's go of the attempt for now.

McCocker is squirming around, avoiding Wetton's attempts to control the action.

Wetton is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged McCocker with him. McCocker is trying to defend but Wetton has an arm under the chin now! McCocker grimaces and is forced to tap out!
