In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Nori Voluspa! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ruslan Danilov!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
Nice sprawl there from Danilov as Voluspa shoots in.
Voluspa closes the distance and clinches up with Danilov, looking for a takedown. Voluspa pushes Danilov against the cage but Danilov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Voluspa gets control of Danilov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Voluspa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Danilov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Voluspa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Voluspa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Danilov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Voluspa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Danilov defends it easily.

Danilov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Voluspa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Voluspa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Danilov has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Voluspa is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Danilov.

Danilov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
