Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between KJ Hoodwell (ranked 5869 p4p, 3936 weight class) and Richmond Belvedere (ranked 0 p4p, 437 weight class). KJ Hoodwell had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, KJ Hoodwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richmond Belvedere!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoodwell tries a head kick but it misses.
Belvedere looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hoodwell shoots in but no luck this time.

Belvedere tries to keep at a distance but Hoodwell has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hoodwell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hoodwell is looking to break free of the clinch but Belvedere has double underhooks.
Belvedere is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hoodwell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Belvedere breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Belvedere counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hoodwell is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Belvedere scores with a couple of nice shots.

KJ Hoodwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richmond Belvedere.
Hoodwell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hoodwell wants to clinch up but Belvedere keeps it at a distance.
KJ Hoodwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoodwell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Belvedere's waist but Belvedere gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hoodwell off to one side.
Belvedere looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Belvedere takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hoodwell looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Horrible takedown attempt by Hoodwell or perhaps it was just good defense by Belvedere, which made it look bad.
Belvedere tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hoodwell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Belvedere somewhat.
Hoodwell tries to clinch up but Belvedere circles away and keeps his distance.
Belvedere throws a right hand that Hoodwell ducks under and follows up with a left that Hoodwell also avoids with ease.
Hoodwell looks to land a combination but Belvedere avoids it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Richmond Belvedere will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hoodwell throws a series of punches but Belvedere avoids them all with ease.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Belvedere! But no joy.
Hoodwell misses with a kick to the body.
Belvedere follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Belvedere takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hoodwell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
KJ Hoodwell is winning the standup battle so far.
Hoodwell wants to clinch but Belvedere slips to the side
and Belvedere counters with a straight right hand.
Hoodwell moves in looking to clinch but Belvedere pushes him off.
Hoodwell throws a predictable looking body shot
and Belvedere counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hoodwell throws a sloppy head kick and Belvedere moves out of range easily.
Hoodwell dives in and grabs Belvedere's left leg, looking for a takedown. Belvedere pushes down on Hoodwell's head and hops out.
Hoodwell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Belvedere.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belvedere cracks Hoodwell with an open hand slap.
Hoodwell walks into a stiff left hand from Belvedere.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hoodwell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Belvedere counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Hoodwell pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

We've been informed that Belvedere has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Belvedere lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Nice uppercut lands for Belvedere. That snapped Hoodwell's head back.
Hoodwell throws a combination. Belvedere tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Hoodwell has closed the distance and engaged Belvedere in a clinch.
Hoodwell jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Belvedere walks away with a smile on his face. Hoodwell gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Belvedere has an Americana. Hoodwell didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Belvedere is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Belvedere hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Richmond Belvedere!
A determined Richmond Belvedere didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
