And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Miguel Santos!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice uppercut lands for Santos. That snapped Ballard's head back.
A swing and a miss from Ballard.
A little jabbing left from Santos on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Santos misses with a hook
and Ballard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ballard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Santos.
Santos uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ballard has time to react.
The fighters circling - Ballard throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Santos has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ballard finds it's way round the side to connect with Santos's head.

Santos is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Ballard lands with an uppercut that bounces Santos off the cage and back into range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Adam Ballard will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ballard paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A nice combination there by Santos.
Ballard ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ballard is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Ballard throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Santos on the side of the head.

Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Ballard finish him?
Ballard cracks Santos with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Santos tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ballard pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Santos is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam Ballard!
A very excited looking Adam Ballard made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
