Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Troy Halllman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Barbari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Troy Halllman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yuri Barbari!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barbari looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Halllman wants to control but Barbari is keeping busy.
Halllman works his way to full guard. Good work.
Barbari looking to pass the guard.
Barbari trying to control but Halllman is working from the bottom.
Halllman striking off his back but it's not causing Barbari any problems.
Halllman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Barbari trying to control the position from guard on top but Halllman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barbari wants to pass the guard but Halllman is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Halllman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Barbari is looking for a sweep. Halllman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Halllman is just content to waste time from the top position. Barbari takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Barbari wriggles free and stands up.
Barbari fails in his attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Barbari closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Halllman trying to control here.

Barbari is trying to work for a kimura but Halllman is defending well.
Barbari looks gassed!
Halllman tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Barbari not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Barbari is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Halllman defends it well.
Barbari content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Halllman landing a few short strikes.
Halllman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Halllman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Barbari has passed into side control.
Halllman tries to buck Barbari off but Barbari is having none of it.

Barbari is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Halllman has escaped the position, nice work there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Halllman gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Halllman wants to improve his position but Barbari is controlling well.

Barbari seems to be looking for submissions.
Barbari is trying to control the action in half guard but Halllman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Halllman trying to hold on to Barbari's head to control him but Barbari postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barbari tries to land a front kick but Halllman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Barbari throws a body punch but Halllman moves out of range.

Barbari drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Halllman is trying to control Barbari's posture but Barbari avoids it.
Halllman tries to bench press Barbari off him but Barbari keeps the position.

Barbari looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Barbari is breathing heavily.

Barbari wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Halllman, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Halllman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Halllman is pushing Barbari's head away, looking to escape. Barbari manages to hold on to the position though.
Halllman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Barbari wants to control but Halllman is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Halllman closes the distance but Barbari moves to the side

and Barbari counters with a shoot takedown. Halllman fights it but they end up in guard.
Barbari pushing down on Halllman's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Halllman is looking to escape.
Halllman is in trouble now - Barbari has advanced to mount!
Halllman is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Barbari fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Barbari manages to capitalize on a mistake by Halllman to take his back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barbari keeps control of the position easily here as Halllman tries to buck him off.
Let's hope that Barbari has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Barbari gets his hands free as Halllman looks to control.
Barbari lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Barbari has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Halllman is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Barbari.
Barbari wants to control the position but Halllman frees himself and scrambles - Barbari manages to regain control in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuri Barbari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Halllman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Barbari counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Barbari decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Barbari feints and as Halllman raises his hands in defense, Barbari changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Barbari tries to stand but Halllman is controlling from the bottom.
Halllman looking for a sweep. Not yet Halllman, not yet.

Barbari trying to control but Halllman is working from the bottom.

Despite being in the dominant position, Yuri Barbari just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Halllman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Barbari counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Barbari.
Barbari controls from within his opponent's guard.

Barbari pushes down on Halllman's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Barbari is trying to control the action in half guard but Halllman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Barbari wants to free his trapped foot but Halllman is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Barbari is working for a submission of some sort.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Barbari controls from within his opponent's guard.
Halllman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Barbari is working to get back to half guard.
Barbari is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Yuri Barbari comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Barbari has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
