Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anderson Minard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cesar Cueto!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cueto shoots in for a double leg but Minard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cueto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Minard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cueto sprawls well initially but Minard persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Minard blocks the strikes from Cueto.
Minard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cueto knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Cueto trying to control from the bottom.
Minard moves into full mount! Cueto won't be happy about that!
Minard with shots to the head and body - Cueto looks very uncomfortable down there.
BOOM! Minard connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Cueto is rocked!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Minard with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Cueto is still in real trouble! Can Minard finish him?
Minard postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Cueto bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Minard and the fight is over!
