Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gareth Keenan Jr!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keenan Jr connects with a solid leg kick.
Evans dives in for a single leg takedown but Keenan Jr sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

We've been told by Evans's head coaches at The Jungle Room that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Evans is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Keenan Jr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Evans defends well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Evans is staying active underneath Keenan Jr, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Keenan Jr has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Keenan Jr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Evans gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Keenan Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Evans doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Evans manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
