Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ezekiel Landolf (ranked 25383 p4p, 5950 weight class) and Peter Quaresma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peter Quaresma will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Peter Quaresma!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landolf misses the body punch
letting Quaresma counter with a right hand.
A slow jab from Landolf misses its intended target.
And Quaresma responds with a good body kick, but Landolf manages to step out the way in time.

Quaresma's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Quaresma's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Quaresma should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
A punch combination from Landolf misses.
Landolf shoots for a takedown but Quaresma saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Quaresma lands a nice hook to Landolf's body. Landolf takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Landolf shoots in looking for a takedown. Quaresma tries to sprawl out of it but Landolf keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Quaresma manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Landolf has control of Quaresma's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Quaresma regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Landolf is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Quaresma has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Quaresma is desperately trying to improve his position but Landolf has a good base and remains in mount.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Quaresma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Landolf. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
