And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 5 losses; Jana Iii Sobieskiego!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Sobieskiego shoots in looking for a takedown. Cardona tries to sprawl out of it but Sobieskiego keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Cardona manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sobieskiego changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cardona tries to avoid it but Sobieskiego manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cardona to the ground. Cardona escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cardona attempts a counter takedown but Sobieskiego avoids it well and moves away.
Sobieskiego shoots in for a takedown but Cardona shows good takedown defense.
Calixto Cardona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jana Iii Sobieskiego.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sobieskiego is defended easily by Cardona.
Cardona shoots for a double leg takedown but Sobieskiego sprawls well. He's pushed Cardona's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cardona drops back looking for a leg! Sobieskiego is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sobieskiego manages to kick Cardona off! Cardona jumps back into Sobieskiego's guard.

Cardona is trying to get an arm triangle but Sobieskiego is defending well.
Cardona working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Cardona thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sobieskiego tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Cardona has hold of Sobieskiego's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sobieskiego seems comfortable defending it but Cardona has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sobieskiego is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sobieskiego is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Cardona couldn't care less - he's delighted!
