Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ant Thrax (ranked 3428 p4p, 4035 weight class) and Koba Takanori (ranked 430 p4p, 476 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Thrax counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

I was talking to Thrax's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

and Takanori counters with a good low kick that Thrax was not able to check.

Takanori appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Takanori, as that shot connected.
Takanori cracks Thrax with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Takanori has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Thrax to stand back up!

Ant Thrax's cut is getting worse.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Takanori counters with a crisp right hand that drops Thrax! Takanori lets Thrax back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Oh Thrax is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Takanori throws a quick inside leg kick.
Thrax has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Takanori tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thrax swats him away and circles back towards the center.
