Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alpha Zero!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sturlaugsson.
Zero throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sturlaugsson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Sturlaugsson passes Zero's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Zero is defending against the submission attempts here by Sturlaugsson.
Zero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sturlaugsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sturlaugsson is taking a breather. Zero says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zero is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sturlaugsson pulls his head out easily.
Sturlaugsson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Zero!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sturlaugsson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Zero is surviving well by controlling Sturlaugsson's body position as best he can.
Zero felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Zero looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Sturlaugsson! Submission of the night perhaps?
