Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dux's entrance music is The Blood Sport Theme Song. A fine choice. Austin has chosen Linkin Park - Bleed It Out as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darren Austin!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Austin.
Dux is looking to clinch.

Dux has closed the distance and engaged Austin in a clinch.
Dux tries to break the clinch but Austin is controlling the position.
Austin fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Austin takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Darren Austin has been cut.

Austin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dux wants to clinch up but Austin keeps it at a distance.
Austin tries a head kick but it misses.
Dux could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dux forces Austin back against the cage and clinches.
Dux crunches a lovely knee into Austin's ribcage.
Austin jumps guard but Dux stands there with Austin around his waist. Austin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dux gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Austin.

Austin is looking to break free of the clinch but Dux has double underhooks.
Austin tries to pull guard but Dux won't allow it.
Frank Dux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Austin.
Dux tries a knee to the head but Austin blocks it.

Dux manages to break the clinch.

Dux rushes Austin and presses him up against the cage.

Dux's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Austin closes the distance and clinches up with Dux, looking for a takedown. Austin pushes Dux against the cage but Dux circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters circling a little - Dux finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Austin looks gassed!

Dux throws a lazy head kick

and Austin counters by clinching up.

Dux swats away the attempt to clinch by Austin.

Dux lands with a kick to the temple. Austin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
This has been an exciting period of action!
Austin takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Dux tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Dux explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Dux moves into the clinch.

Dux manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Austin wants to control from the top but Dux keeps moving.
Dux is controlling Austin's posture.
Dux keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully.
Dux is pulling down on Austin's head. It's preventing any offense from Austin, at least for the moment.

Dux's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Austin prevents Dux from getting back to his feet.

Austin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Austin controls from within his opponent's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dux keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully.
Austin controlling from the top position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Austin won't allow Dux to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Dux dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Darren Austin's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Dux gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Dux is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Austin tries to close the distance and clinch but Dux swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dux tries to score with a low kick but Austin moves his leg out of the way.

Austin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Austin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dux sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Austin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Austin counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Austin wants to clinch.
Dux throws a lazy head kick

Austin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dux.
Austin looks to land a combination but Dux avoids it well.

Austin has taken the fight to the clinch.

Austin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dux misses with a kick to the body.

Austin clinches up with Dux and pushes him back against the cage.

Dux gets underhooks to prevent Austin's takedown attempt.
Dux wants to break free but Austin has control.

and Austin counters with a shoot takedown. Dux fights it but they end up in guard.

Austin wants to control from the top but Dux keeps moving.

Austin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Austin trying to control but Dux is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Austin closes the distance and pushes Dux back into the cage.
Austin tries for a takedown but Dux manages to get underhooks.

Darren Austin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Austin.
Dux throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Dux is looking to clinch.
Dux tries to clinch but Austin is having none of it.

Austin takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

and Austin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Austin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dux gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Austin darts in and clinches Dux up against the cage.

and Dux counters with a nice low kick that buckles Austin's knee momentarily.
Austin shoots in looking for a takedown. Dux tries to sprawl out of it but Austin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dux manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Austin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Austin.

Austin tries to stand but Dux is controlling from the bottom.
Austin trying to control the position from guard on top but Dux is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Austin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dux keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully.
Austin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dux kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Austin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dux works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Austin stops Dux from standing up.
Austin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dux misses with a kick to the body.

Austin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dux knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Austin on the ground.

Austin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dux doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Austin.
Dux is staying active underneath Austin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Dux is trying to stand up here but Austin is controlling him well.
Austin stalling.

And that's the end of the fight!
Darren Austin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Austin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
