Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crush Bandicoot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Grandis!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bandicoot shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Grandis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Bandicoot advances position into side control!

Bandicoot is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Grandis has escaped the position, nice work there.

Bandicoot goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Grandis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bandicoot's guard! Nice work there by Grandis!
Grandis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Robert Grandis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Grandis digs a good body shot into Bandicoot's ribs.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Grandis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bandicoot changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grandis tries to avoid it but Bandicoot manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grandis to the ground. Grandis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Grandis catches Bandicoot with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Bandicoot closes the distance and clinches up with Grandis, looking for a takedown. Bandicoot pushes Grandis against the cage but Grandis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crush Bandicoot. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab from Grandis finds it's way through Bandicoot's defenses.
Grandis lands a head kick. Bandicoot smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Bandicoot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Grandis pinned against the cage. Grandis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Grandis tries to work over Bandicoot's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Bandicoot has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Grandis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Grandis cracks Bandicoot with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Bandicoot takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd cheers as Grandis lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bandicoot doesn't seem phased though.

Grandis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bandicoot has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Grandis after a bit of a struggle.

Bandicoot takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bandicoot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grandis sprawls well. Grandis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bandicoot gets slowly back to his feet.

Bandicoot shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grandis as he avoids it easily.
Bandicoot throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grandis's waist but Grandis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bandicoot off to one side.
Bandicoot drops his hands momentarily and Grandis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Grandis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bandicoot stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Grandis has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Grandis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Robert Grandis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Bandicoot on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Bandicoot shoots for a double leg takedown but Grandis sprawls well. He's pushed Bandicoot's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Robert Grandis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Grandis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
