PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between World Peace (ranked 4219 p4p, 23837 weight class) and Andrzej Bebok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peace comes into the arena with Crazy blaring out of the sound system. Andrzej Bebok will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, World Peace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 61 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrzej Bebok!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bebok fails with a takedown attempt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bebok has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Bebok shoots in but Peace avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bebok will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Peace feinted with a counter takedown.
World Peace has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrzej Bebok.

Bebok has closed the distance and engaged Peace in a clinch.
Bebok lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Peace is trying to pull guard but Bebok has him pressed against the cage.
Bebok misses with a punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peace jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bebok walks away with a smile on his face. Peace gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bebok tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peace paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Peace looks to score with a jab to the body but Bebok is just out of range.
Bebok tries to counter by closing the distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Peace. Bebok does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bebok shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Peace circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bebok tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Peace swivels and escapes.
Bebok lands a nice leg kick that just misses Peace's sensitive parts.
Bebok is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bebok moves out of range of the strikes.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bebok.

Peace scores with a takedown into Bebok's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bebok controls Peace momentarily but Peace frees himself.

Peace drops back looking for a leg! Bebok is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bebok manages to kick Peace off! Peace jumps back into Bebok's guard.
Peace working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bebok is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Peace drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Peace seems to have locked his on tight now - Bebok screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Peace, as he picks up the win!
