Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Burlington Spatchcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayden McMillionston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McMillionston comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Nothing to Prove - H20 kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Burlington Spatchcock has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Burlington Spatchcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hayden McMillionston!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McMillionston bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Spatchcock manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Spatchcock is looking for a sweep. McMillionston is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Spatchcock lands a couple of sideways elbows.
McMillionston seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Spatchcock does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McMillionston prevents Spatchcock from improving his position.
Spatchcock wants to get back to his feet.
McMillionston wants to pass to mount but Spatchcock is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spatchcock is staying active underneath McMillionston, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Spatchcock wants to improve his position but McMillionston is controlling well.
Spatchcock is working hard here to advance position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
McMillionston shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spatchcock as he jumps to the side.

Spatchcock fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McMillionston, pushing him back against the cage.

McMillionston looking for a takedown.
McMillionston has Spatchcock pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Spatchcock manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Burlington Spatchcock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hayden McMillionston.

Spatchcock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Spatchcock doesn't manage to clinch there - McMillionston circles away.

Spatchcock wants to stand and escape but McMillionston is having none of it.

McMillionston stopping the sweep attempt from Spatchcock.

Spatchcock has his foot on McMillionston's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McMillionston works his way back into a safe position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Burlington Spatchcock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McMillionston scores a takedown into full mount!
McMillionston should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Spatchcock swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Spatchcock keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

McMillionston has hold of Spatchcock's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Spatchcock manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Spatchcock is squirming around, avoiding McMillionston's attempts to control the action.
Spatchcock manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Spatchcock wants to control but McMillionston is keeping busy and won't allow it.

McMillionston decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Spatchcock instigates a clinch.

Spatchcock comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Spatchcock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Spatchcock fails with an attempt to clinch.
McMillionston shoots for a takedown but Spatchcock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Spatchcock lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Hayden McMillionston has been cut.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Spatchcock has managed to clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Spatchcock.
McMillionston takes an elbow to the temple.
A nice right hand lands inside from Spatchcock.

Spatchcock has clasped his hands together around McMillionston's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Spatchcock manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McMillionston manages to get himself to full guard.

Spatchcock is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McMillionston is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Spatchcock is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but McMillionston has just dragged him back down to the mat.

McMillionston is working to tighten is grip on Spatchcock's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Spatchcock has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but McMillionston is really squeezing tight and eventually Spatchcock passes out! McMillionston breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
