Greene has chosen Im Shipping Up To Boston as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Frankie Venegas had a look across the cage there at his opponent. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Venegas !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paulie Greene!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venegas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Greene changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Venegas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Venegas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Greene scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Venegas doesn't seem bothered though.
Venegas misses with a series of wild punches.

Venegas drives through with a takedown into Greene's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Greene fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Venegas .

Venegas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Venegas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Venegas is looking to take a break and control but Greene is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Greene is staying tight to Venegas 's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Venegas is looking for a sweep. Greene is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Greene got a little sloppy there for a moment and Venegas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Greene has managed to get both his arms back between Venegas 's legs - danger averted.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Venegas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Greene lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That kick from Greene tenderised Venegas 's leg. Venegas is trying to keep his angry face on.

and Greene counters with a body kick that stops Venegas in his tracks momentarily.
Greene is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Greene fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Crunch! Greene slams his shin into Venegas 's torso.
Venegas tries to close the distance and clinch but Greene swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Greene shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Venegas eats them both and turns towards Greene to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A solid leg kick lands there for Greene.
Greene fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Greene scores with a kick to the body.
Greene darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Greene comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Venegas misses with a double jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Venegas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Greene has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Greene.
Greene has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Venegas fails with the takedown
letting Greene counter with a right hand.
Venegas throws a leg kick but Greene sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Greene explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Greene has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

and Greene connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Greene's jab looks to have found its range, popping Venegas under the eye.
Venegas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Greene darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Venegas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Greene as he jumps to the side.

Greene gets in close and tags Venegas with a short punch that almost sends Venegas to the mat! Oh Venegas is in big trouble! He turns his back on Greene, trying to create some distance but Greene rushes him, striking wildly and Venegas goes down! The referee tackles Greene into the cage to end the fight! Greene is one violent man!
